Exploring unconventional Braille, I set myself the task of exploring how Braille can be made of general household objects. I chose to set the poem 'On His Blindness' by John Milton in Braille, as the poem was particularly inspiring to me as it takes you on a journey of Milton coming to terms with his blindness.
As the project progressed, I explored the downwards spiral of Milton's life living with blindness, which inspired me to set the poem in the form of a spiral clock. Representing blindness, the clock depicts the idea that blindness can happen to anyone at any time, it just so happens for John Milton it felt as though it was spiralling out of control.
